Apartments
The House
Thomas Brocklebank built the house in 1740. Thomas and his brother
John were the sons of Captain Daniel Brocklebank who founded
one of the world's oldest merchant shipping lines: The Brocklebank
Shipping Line.
Each of the apartments within the Grade 2 listed Georgian building is
self-contained and unique. In many, period features in the form
of original fireplaces, cast iron radiators, tall elegant ceilings,
restored Georgian windows remain, combined with the best of contemporary
modern fittings and furnishings.
Layout and Furnishings
Each apartment offers large open-plan living / dining areas
with fully-fitted kitchens. Living areas are furnished with good
quality dining tables, sofas and chairs. The bedrooms have double
or king size beds and excellent storage facilities for clothes.
Kitchens and Laundry
Kitchens are equipped with electric ovens,
hobs, extractors, dishwashers, fridge freezers, washer dryers.
Bathrooms
All apartments have full-size baths with separate
or over-showers, except for Apartment 2 which has a shower room.
Garden
At the rear of the property is a large,
walled garden, with seating areas for the use of tenants and
their guests.
Facilities
All apartments have independent central heating
and each apartment is individually metered.
All apartments are fitted with: satellite TV points, digital
TV points, telephone points, entry phones, alarmed smoke detectors.
The following services are provided in the communal areas and
are included in the rent: cleaning and servicing, heating, garden
maintenance, cleaning of external windows.
Car Parking
Residents are entitled to free resident parking permits from Cumbria County Council
